2014 Taipei Model United Nation 台北模擬聯合國會議

YAIC (Youth Association of International Conferences) commenced to hold annual Mode United Nations Conference in the year of 2006. We strive to provide a one-of-a-kind platform for all the intellectual young minds to discuss urgent issues of today and further cooperate together by simulating the role of diplomats.

This year, the organizing team of TMUN 2014 is devoted to provide the best experience to all the delegates during the three-day conference. Resonating with the uprising influence of the People’s Republic of China and the importance of Chinese language, we are ready to take in delegates for our brand new Chinese committee – UNESCO. For this year’s TMUN, we also opened an unprecedented committee—Third Party Actors (TPA) for delegates to enroll yourselves in different committees as well as to broaden your understanding regarding different topics. Moreover, we’ve inherited the legacy of UN press corps from previous years. In the UN press corps committee, delegates would not only enhance your academic English writing ability but also proficiency in terms of news editing. Through the total of five sessions’ intense debates, delegates will also have the opportunity to attend the Security Council, DISEC, ECOFIN and present the best of yourselves.

國立政治大學青年國際會議社(Youth Association of International Conferences, YAIC)自2006年起開始推動模擬聯合國會議(Model United Nations, MUN)，希望透過模擬聯合國這個平台推讓大學生體認國際事務的重要性，並且經由實際扮演各國外交官的角色模擬機會，和來自各領域的菁英交流和合作。

2014國立政治大學台北模擬聯合國會議(2014 National Chengchi University Taipei Model United Nations, TMUN)為本校在累積了獨立舉辦九屆模擬聯合國活動以及四次高中生模擬聯合國特別會議之後的成果呈現。本次會議將有別於以往全程以英語進行的方式，我們特別開立了一個全新的中文委員會--聯合國教科文組織(United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO)，強調中文在世界中日益彰顯的重要性；我們也增設TPA( Third Party Actors)，讓代表能夠以觀察員身分穿梭各委員會，增進代表們對議題的了解廣度。另外，2014台北模擬聯合國會議二度將新聞中心(UN News Corps)對外招生，並加開培訓，讓選擇新聞中心的學生，學到不僅是英文能力，更是對於國際新聞編輯的專業了解。透過三天五個議程的模擬會議，與會學生視其被分配的委員會，將有機會在聯合國安全理事會(Security Council)、聯合國大會第一委員會DISEC(General Assembly, First Committee: Disarmament and International Security Committee) 、聯合國大會第二委員會ECOFIN(General Assembly, Second Committee: Economic and Financial Affairs Committee)中扮演各國代表，對於相關議題展開真槍實彈的演辯練習。
